Matthew Sewall is the director of marketing and client relations and joined Sewall Financial Group, Inc. in 2019 on an internship basis before joining full-time in 2023. He is responsible for our business development efforts, marketing and public relations initiatives and ensuring our client experience continues to be industry leading.
Born and raised in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Matthew is the youngest of four children. He graduated from Bryant University where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in marketing with a double minor in communication and psychology. Matthew was a four-year varsity participant on Bryant’s division I-AA football team, where he earned multiple All-Conference selections at wide receiver and kick returner.
After graduating, Matthew was invited to minicamps with the Houston Texans and New York Jets, in addition to tryouts with the New Orleans Saints, before signing a professional contract with the Orlando Apollos, a part of the Alliance of American Football League. There, he got to see firsthand how unpredictable professional sports, and life in general, can be. This inspired Matthew to enter the financial services industry at a Fortune 100 company in Northwestern Mutual, cutting his teeth in their wealth management and financial planning division. He later joined Sewall Financial Group, a company founded by a former professional athlete, with a proven history of putting their client’s interests first and foremost.
Matthew has a passion for building strong relationships through impactful work. In addition to having seven years experience in the marketing field, Matthew spent four in client servicing roles in the finance sector. He understands the necessity of growing a business through dedicated client service and communication, in addition to effective, measurable marketing strategies that will represent a company’s core values and services.
Matthew also holds his real estate license in Rhode Island and Massachusetts's and enjoys playing golf, traveling, exercising and reading in his free time.
